There was a
discussion about "Latinos and the community" on Sunday
September 24 at the Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Catholic Church
located in Club Road Windham. The keynote speaker was be
state Rep. John Martinez (D- New Haven).
The event was attended by 25 concerned
citizens. Rep. Martinez put on an informative presentation
on the need for all of the community to become involved in
local, state and national issues. The importance of voting
was discussed at length as well as the need to become
affiliated with an organization to make sure that your voice
is heard. Participation and voting were the main theme of
the day.
